Itza Meatball Festival!

By Nick Schonberger

Meatballs are delicious. Plus, there are multiple things you can do with them...like A) toss them in some spaghetti, or B) make yourself a grinder. Either way, you won't go wrong. Another plus: it is pretty impossible to screw up meatballs. Here is a simple way of cooking up a classic.

You need:

* 3/4 lb. ground beef
* 3/4 pound ground pork
* 1 egg
* 1/2 cup bread crumbs
* 1/4 grated Parmesan
* 1 onion, diced
* Italian seasoning
* 1 large can crushed tomato
* 1 can tomato paste
* Olive oil

Begin by dicing the onion and setting aside. Then heat some olive oil in a large sauce pan. Add the tomato paste and simmer on high for a few minutes. Add one can water to thin, and reduce heat. Simmer a few minutes longer and add the crushed tomatoes.

When the sauce is on the heat, combine all meat, bread crumbs, cheese, and seasoning in a large bowl. Make sure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, then form into small balls. Place meatballs in the sauce. Cook for 2 hours.

Bingo. Serve your meatball creation with some Trader Joe's vino and watch the hilarious movie Meatballs.
