From IM and Crackberry obsessions to gaming habits gone horribly wrong, there are many shades of Internet addiction. Finally, doctors in China have released the first definition of this relatively new but widespread affliction. According to an article in The China Daily, "Symptoms of addiction included yearning to get back online, mental or physical distress, irritation and difficulty concentrating or sleeping. The definition, based on a study of more than 1,300 problematic computer users, classifies as addicts those who spend at least six hours online a day and have shown at least one symptom in the past three months."

Could this be the new ADD? I wonder what type of cockamamie treatments and drugs could be developed to sell to people who can't go five minutes without checking Perez. Only time will tell...
