Can I use my work email address for personal emails?

No!...well you can do what you wan't but whats the point right? You already have a personal email account and most jobs monitor what you are doing on their computers anyway. I'm sure the occasional "I'll meet you guys at the soccer match at 5" isn't a problem, but its much better to keep your business and personal e-mails separate. A lot can be misinterpreted when it comes to spam and remember, you can't control what people send you.
